The Indigenous Real Estate Association of Canada (IRAC) is building a Council of Advisors to support our Indigenous-led Board of Directors with professional knowledge, experience and guidance.
We welcome Indigenous and non-Indigenous professionals who share our commitment to advancing education, advocacy, Indigenous economic opportunities and stronger relationships across Canada’s real estate industry.
Who are we looking for?
Elders & Traditional Knowledge Keepers
Share guidance on respectful engagement, cultural understanding and recognition of First Nations knowledge, values and perspectives, in accordance with appropriate cultural protocols.
Lawyers & Legal Experts
Provide insights into land governance, leasehold interests, legal frameworks and real estate transactions involving First Nations lands.
Accountants & Tax Professionals
Share expertise in taxation, financial reporting, business structures and financial considerations affecting Indigenous real estate activities.
Appraisers & Valuation Professionals
Contribute expertise in property valuation, leasehold interests and valuation considerations involving First Nations lands
Financial & Lending Professionals
Help identify financing challenges, lending practices and opportunities to improve access to real estate financing
Educational & Training
Advise on curriculum development, professional accreditation, learning methods and educational partnerships.
REALTORS® and Real Estate Brokers
Bring practical transaction experience and identify opportunities to improve professional knowledge, industry practices and education.
First Nations Lands & Development Professionals
Share experience in land administration, governance, leasing, planning, development and community economic opportunities.
Your Contribution
Council members will have opportunities to share their expertise, provide feedback on educational and advocacy initiatives, identify emerging issues and help IRAC build relationships and opportunities across Canada.
The Council serves in an advisory capacity, supporting the Board of Directors while respecting IRAC’s Indigenous-led governance and decision-making.
What is the Time Commitment?
We recognize that your time is valuable.
We anticipate quarterly meetings, with opportunities to provide advice or participate in specific initiatives as your interests and availability permit.
